Wednesday Wonders

Gosh, GOTTA LOVE WEDNESDAYS!
It's halfway through the week and what a wonderful week it's been...NOT

Monday marked the start of my HSC exams starting with english and then tuesday brought another english paper. On the plus side, it's over now, but it was definitely crap. The comprehension section in the first exam was quite amusing. One of the excerpts was about this boy who just moved to Perth and didn't 'belong' because he had to wear shoes. He talks of the 'sand people' of Perth and how they're so awesome. Anyway, everyone who did the paper thought it was quite amusing and in HSC tradition, of couse there was thousands of memes. This was my favourite:

I guess it probably doesn't seem as funny to you, you had to have read the excerpt to truly understand how ridiculous it was.

Then today, after the wonderful woes of the HSC, I had to get new retainers. My teeth had become a little crooked so when they put the new retainers in, they barely went in, now I feel like every tooth in my mouth is being ripped out. YAY for me! Hopefully they'll settle their kettle while I sleep.

On the plus side, I don't have an exam until Monday so I have some extra time on my hands, new beauty post will be up tomorrow so don't forget to check out my beauty blog tomorrow :)

Ladies, There's Still Hope!

For those of you that don't know, I work in a pizza shop and last Tuesday, possibly the most adorable thing happened. It went a little like this.

A young guy came in, probably about twenty, and he asked if it was possible for us to write a message on the pizza box and I said 'sure, what would you like to write?', people made these requests all the time.(Once someone asked me to draw a dragon eating a piece of pineapple, weird, right? Needless to say I failed miserably, that was the day I realised I could not draw a dragon to save my life)
The young man, too nervous to say it out loud, asked if he could write it down.
After giving him a pen and a piece of paper I asked what pizza he'd like, he said 'a cheese pizza', indefinitely.
Picking up the piece of paper, I read what he wrote.
'Will you be my gf or is this too cheesy?'
Feeling a little embarrassed I asked when he'd like it and he said '8pm'.
8PM! That was three hours away!!
He then paid and left.
I thought about this over and over for about a week.
I'm not sure how I'd react if I was the girl, I thought 'crap, I probably would've laughed' and then I thought 'wow, what a thoughtful young bloke!' (I'm a bit of a bogan)
Seriously, what guy, around my age, goes out of his way to ask a girl out? He had it all planned out and came in 3 hours early. THAT'S DEDICATION
After talking to my friends about it they informed me that it was all over tumblr. Who cares? It's the the thought that counts right?
What do you think? How would you react? Has a guy ever done anything cute like this for you? Let me know in the comments :)

Realisations; Sometimes you have to let them go!

Over the last month or so I've realised and learned a lot about people. I've realised that some people you just have to let go.

Reasons for this include:

  • Negative energy- Constant put-downs, people not believing in you and your dreams, people who take their stress out on you, people who make you feel unhappy to be around.
  • People who just don't really care- These people usually pretend to care about you but when it comes a time that you really need their support, they're not there for you.
  • Liars- People who tell lies, I'm not talking about small, little white lies, but lies that can affect you and others.
I find that the easiest way to let these people go is to accept that they won't change. There might have been a time in your life where they were different but it's unlikely that they're going to change anytime soon, if they do change, when they come to the realisation that they have done something wrong it is likely that they will contact you. I've noticed since doing this, that I've become a happier person and have a lot more confidence within myself.

Focus on the people who believe in you and make you feel good about yourself, keeping in mind that it's a two-way street. Treat others how you wish to be treated and usually people return the favour.

Sorry for the slightly depressing post but I thought it might be helpful.

My Little Tea Station

My tea station
There's nothing like coming home or waking up in the morning and making yourself a good cup of tea. After watching juicystar07's coffee and tea bar video I decided, OMGGGG I have to do this!!!!!! As I don't drink coffee I just decided to keep it strictly tea :)

My favourite cup
So first things first obviously you need to heat your water. I just have a very small 1L Sunbeam kettle, perfect for just one or two people and it doesn't take up too much space.

Next, I have my favourite little cup, it has all these beautiful blue fairy wrens and I especially like it because the porcelain is quite thin and fine unlike most mugs.

What's a cup and water without tea? These are a few of my favourites at the moment :)

T2 Sencha Vanilla
This is T2's Sencha vanilla. It is a loose leaf green tea with a hint of vanilla flavour.
It suggests that you use one teaspoon to 250ml of water and let it infuse for 1-3 minutes and it is perfect by itself. It also says to serve it hot although I think it is also amazing cold. It's a perfect summer tea.

Ingredients: Green tea and vanilla flavour.

Planet Organic Female Balance
This is Planet Organic Female Balance tea. It is a herbal tea in tea bags. The strongest flavour in this tea is probably the lemongrass although the flavour is very hard to describe.
I find this little baby is perfect for when you wake up in the morning, I find that it gives me more energy which is essential as I often feel tired for hours after I wake up. It claims to provide nutrifying qualities and natural clarity through the synergy of a carefully balanced blend of pure certified organic herbs.
It suggests to place 1 tea bag in a cup and allow to infuse for 4-5 minutes. I also like to add organic honey to compliment the flavours. Serve hot.
I also store them in the little cupcake jar.

Ingredients: Licorice root, Sage leaf, Nettle leaf, Chamomile flowers and Lemongrass.

Aurora Peppermint Tea
Aurora Peppermint tea is exactly what it is, peppermint tea. The teabags are adorably, individually wrapped and overall the packaging is just so pretty and I just had to have it on display.
It is a freshening tea that is supposed to aid digestion. I personally love to have a cup before bed as it seems to calm me down and leaves me with a minty fresh feeling, still not to sure about the digestion bit.
It suggests to use 1 teabag with 200 mls of water and to infuse it for 5-6 minutes which I think is perfect. Don't be fooled though as the tea is very very dark and the first time I used it I didn't leave the teabag in long enough as I thought I had over-infused it.

Ingredients: Peppermint

Personally, I don't add milk or sugar to my teas usually, as I think it ruins the taste and it is also better for you by itself.
So go on!  Make yourself a delicious cup of tea!!!!!

Update

Phoebe has been very lazy with her blogging lately, so please excuse!!!!

If you don't know me in real life then you may not know that i have recently moved into a new little apartment. All I can say is, IT IS AMAZINGGGGGG. I can now have things how I want them and I have a lot more freedom. With that, comes responsibility but I feel as though I'm doing just fine.

First things first, PETS. Where would my life be without a pet. There is not one time in my entire life that I can recall, that I have never NOT had a pet, so when I moved out I felt a little lonely especially as I couldn't take Knox(my little kitty). So I thought I should get a pet and all that came to mind and all I thought was suitable for the apartment was a fighting fish.
Without further ado, meet Tyrion!
Tyrion, named after my favourite GOT character, is an elephant fin fighting fish and he's just the cutest little fish you've ever seen and very smart, he even eats his food out of my fingers. What a daredevil!

Another thing about the apartment is that it doesn't have it's own balcony(or yard) and it sucks because at my old house I did lots of gardening so I thought how am I going to fill that pleasure in my life? The answer was terrariums. I am addicted to these gorgeous baby sized gardens. Here's a photo of the first one I've made.

Other than my little moving adventures I also graduated from high school, which is CRAZYYYY!!!! I honestly feel as though I've been going to school ever since I can remember and now it's all over! INSANE. Now the burden of the HSC awaits, I cannot wait until it's just all over and I can just work and travel. NO STRESS!

It's time to do some cleaning so I guess I shall talk to you all later.

xx Phoebe

What's happening right now? Plus INs and OUTs

So right now, it is currently 12:16am and I'm supposed to be doing my textiles folio but I really can't be bothered. Blogging has now become my ultimate procrastination time. THANKS FOR THAT BLOG GOD DAMMIT.

In:
Cuddle time with Knoxy. For those of you that don't know Knox is my gorgeous little kitty and he's been a little under the weather because he got a few vaccines on the weekend. Look how cute he is!
Blogging. Pretty much self-explanatory but I am completely obsessed with blogging right now, it's soooooo much fun :)
Water. So random but right now I just can't stop drinking it. As weird has it sounds, it's quite tasty haha!
No make-up. I've now gone 3 days without wearing any make-up and it feels great! The pimples on my forehead are healing and it feels so nice being able to rub my eyes if they get itchy. I'm sure every girl knows how good it feels when you can do that without worrying about smudging your make-up.
Reading. I'm now about 100 pages away from finishing Insurgent; the second instalment to the Divergent trilogy which is simply AH-MAZE-BALLS! I'll write a review for you when I finish :)
OUT:
English, Maths and Art. I have finally finished all my trial exams for these subjects and I could not be happier to get them out of the way. DONE AND DUSTED BABY! Now just have to do textiles and my French exam, what a drag!
Getting up late. As nice as having a sleep-in sounds, strangely, lately I liked to get up early in the morning and greet the day. I feel as though I have more energy when I do and it's a perfect time to exercise and have a great substantial breakfast.

I have now joined bloglovin' so now you can follow me on there to keep updated with my blog posts. Be sure to follow this blog and my beauty blog :)

Honey Chia

If you're one of those people that puts 5 parts milo to 1 part milk then you might want to try this scrumptious, scoopable alternative.

Introducing Honey Chia.

What you'll need:
  • Milk
  • Honey
  • Chia seeds

What to do:

  1. Scoop about 3 teaspoons(you can add more or less) of Chia seeds into a glass.
  2. Add 1 cup of milk and stir. Let it sit for about 5 minutes(this allows the seeds to swell and become slippery).
  3. Add 2 teaspoons of honey slowly(let it drizzle).
  4. Give it a good stir and bon appetit!

What's your favourite drink? Tell me in the comments below :)

xx
