Balinesia

For those of you that don't know, I went to Bali for Schoolies. If you don't live in Australia, you may not know what that is. Schoolies, basically, is a holiday that people take when they finish high school. The most popular destinations are Byron Bay, the Gold Coast, Bali and Thailand.

I, along with four other friends, went to Bali.

I took the camera that I recently purchased but before I left I could not, for the life of me, find the charger. However, I still took my camera with the little charge it had left and crossed my fingers that I could get a few snaps. Of course, it didn't last long.

Emi(one of my friends) kindly let me use her camera, a Sony Alpha Nex C3(along with my memory card) throughout the trip and I took some beautiful shots. Thanks Eminata!

Wednesday Wonders

Gosh, GOTTA LOVE WEDNESDAYS!
It's halfway through the week and what a wonderful week it's been...NOT

Monday marked the start of my HSC exams starting with english and then tuesday brought another english paper. On the plus side, it's over now, but it was definitely crap. The comprehension section in the first exam was quite amusing. One of the excerpts was about this boy who just moved to Perth and didn't 'belong' because he had to wear shoes. He talks of the 'sand people' of Perth and how they're so awesome. Anyway, everyone who did the paper thought it was quite amusing and in HSC tradition, of couse there was thousands of memes. This was my favourite:

I guess it probably doesn't seem as funny to you, you had to have read the excerpt to truly understand how ridiculous it was.

Then today, after the wonderful woes of the HSC, I had to get new retainers. My teeth had become a little crooked so when they put the new retainers in, they barely went in, now I feel like every tooth in my mouth is being ripped out. YAY for me! Hopefully they'll settle their kettle while I sleep.

On the plus side, I don't have an exam until Monday so I have some extra time on my hands, new beauty post will be up tomorrow so don't forget to check out my beauty blog tomorrow :)

Ladies, There's Still Hope!

For those of you that don't know, I work in a pizza shop and last Tuesday, possibly the most adorable thing happened. It went a little like this.

A young guy came in, probably about twenty, and he asked if it was possible for us to write a message on the pizza box and I said 'sure, what would you like to write?', people made these requests all the time.(Once someone asked me to draw a dragon eating a piece of pineapple, weird, right? Needless to say I failed miserably, that was the day I realised I could not draw a dragon to save my life)
The young man, too nervous to say it out loud, asked if he could write it down.
After giving him a pen and a piece of paper I asked what pizza he'd like, he said 'a cheese pizza', indefinitely.
Picking up the piece of paper, I read what he wrote.
'Will you be my gf or is this too cheesy?'
Feeling a little embarrassed I asked when he'd like it and he said '8pm'.
8PM! That was three hours away!!
He then paid and left.
I thought about this over and over for about a week.
I'm not sure how I'd react if I was the girl, I thought 'crap, I probably would've laughed' and then I thought 'wow, what a thoughtful young bloke!' (I'm a bit of a bogan)
Seriously, what guy, around my age, goes out of his way to ask a girl out? He had it all planned out and came in 3 hours early. THAT'S DEDICATION
After talking to my friends about it they informed me that it was all over tumblr. Who cares? It's the the thought that counts right?
What do you think? How would you react? Has a guy ever done anything cute like this for you? Let me know in the comments :)

Realisations; Sometimes you have to let them go!

Over the last month or so I've realised and learned a lot about people. I've realised that some people you just have to let go.

Reasons for this include:

  • Negative energy- Constant put-downs, people not believing in you and your dreams, people who take their stress out on you, people who make you feel unhappy to be around.
  • People who just don't really care- These people usually pretend to care about you but when it comes a time that you really need their support, they're not there for you.
  • Liars- People who tell lies, I'm not talking about small, little white lies, but lies that can affect you and others.
I find that the easiest way to let these people go is to accept that they won't change. There might have been a time in your life where they were different but it's unlikely that they're going to change anytime soon, if they do change, when they come to the realisation that they have done something wrong it is likely that they will contact you. I've noticed since doing this, that I've become a happier person and have a lot more confidence within myself.

Focus on the people who believe in you and make you feel good about yourself, keeping in mind that it's a two-way street. Treat others how you wish to be treated and usually people return the favour.

Sorry for the slightly depressing post but I thought it might be helpful.
